To specify, Anne😊: research on amenorrheic & eumenorrheic athletes' hormone profile and its effects on mental and physiological variables are all valuable. Biological markers in specific situations may increase our understanding related to acute mechanisms long-term consequences

@inagarthe I’ll definitely share it when it’s complete. Yes so many factors impact sport performance but RED-S is certainly important and its great it’s getting more attention and theres more education about it. This study was related to eumenorrheic women however and #bone metabolism.

Would love to read it! I feel a shift in sportsnutr. sci. maybe driven by RED-S and its complexity? Curriousity drives research. I apprechiate every study that may help practitioners guiding athletes with a multidisciplinary approach and respect for the mindset of elite-athletes

He’s just like you, Trent; soft on the inside and soft on the outside, with a heart beating for sport💚. Could you imagine if this was Hillary or Theo? You would completely lose it!😂 -And isn’t that what it’s all about? Sport definitely has the power to move and change, love it!

18 or so hours into the trip to Gifu for ⁦@AthleticsCanada⁩ pre-Olympic holding camp. 5 hours of airport processing to go, then a 5 hour bus ride. Thank goodness ⁦@TStellingwerff⁩ is here to keep me entertained. #trackstats

This is not at all a complaint, I love my job. But I think social media sometimes paints unrealistic perceptions for an applied sport scientist. How was today, some ~3 weeks pre Olympics? 260+ email interactions (replies, CC's, inbox, deletes), 8 phone calls and 4 zoom meetings.

Obviously, the moving targets of a COVID Olympics causing performance planning shifts, has exploded communications. But, applied sport science, in the field, is many times just sluggin' out exceptional and timely communications and planning. It's not always the "sexy" stuff.

Is it #REDS? Or is it overtraining syndrome. Delighted to be part of the writing time on this interesting physiological review of #REDS vs #OTS with @TStellingwerff @IdaHeikura @LouiseMBurke @RomainMeeusen
