Why Russia will lose this war? Much of the "realist" discourse is about accepting Putin's victory, cuz it's *guaranteed*. But how do we know it is? I'll argue that analysts 1) overrate Russian army 2) underrate Ukrainian one 3) misunderstand Russian strategy & political goals🧵

That is an absolutely horrible case scenario I hope never comes. "The indiscriminate form of air attack that was standard practice for Russian and Syrian Air Force operations over Aleppo and Homs is unfortunately likely to be employed by the VKS over Ukraine in the coming days"

[6/7] By starting the war in Ukraine, Russia lost all moral arguments, and the Russian government lost all credibility if it ever had one before (on both counts). I believe the results will lead to catastrophic outcomes and inevitable economic and political collapse for Russia.

[5/7] Imagine being cut off from the world's social media, or worse, from the internet as a whole (although, I think this could be exactly what Putin wants).

[4/7] For example, imagine not being able to purchase ANYTHING from outside of Russia w/Russian banks funds or not being able to travel to Europe or USA (directly or at all) by being cut off from international financial, transportation, and other systems.

[3/7] Russia has been carrying the brunt of western sanctions for several years (maybe even with some degree of success). However, the previous sanction may pale in comparison to what is possible to come. No matter how bad it is now, it ALWAYS can get worse.

[2/7] akin to North Korea, thus making Russia more vulnerable from the inside and ultimately less safe. At first glance, the situation for Russians may not seem all that different;

Putin started the war against Ukraine under the pretexts of Russian safety concerns (to prevent Ukraine from joining NATO). The aftermath of this war will be devastating for Putin, and worse, for Russia as a country, which is currently on the path of becoming a pariah state [1/7]

Tip: Avoid large pull requests. Find ways to break them up into smaller ones. Small PRs can be: * Easier to review. Intent is clearer and mistakes are more obvious * Less likely to conflict with others work * Compatible w/large new features - e.g behind a flag * Not a panacea :)

I don't know why so many people and companies are obsessed with the idea that developers should be running "docker build" as part of a dev iteration. That's the most inefficient way to develop an app.
