💼We further demonstrate the use of LLMs in a case study of conducting a meta-analysis with automatically extracted results. We found good results by almost replicating the exact total log odds ratio and confidence interval, suggesting a future in fully automated meta-analysis.

🤔How close are we to fully automating biomedical meta-analyses? Check out our new preprint (w/ @pogrebits3, @ijmarshall, & @byron_c_wallace) which investigates how well LLMs can extract numerical results from RCTs to permit accurate, fully automated meta-analysis. 🧵👇

Do you use/develop literature identification methods for #systematicreviews? There are too many performance metrics! To find the best ones, @GaelenAdam (@Brown_SPH PhD candidate) is leading a 15-min discrete choice experiment (URL in comment). @cochranecollab @MedLibAssn #medlibs
