Pacific Fusion chose Albuquerque over Silicon Valley for its $1 billion nuclear fusion research and manufacturing campus at Mesa del Sol. After months of competition with Livermore and Alameda, California, the Land of Enchantment came out on top. This cutting edge research and

I was thrilled to learn of Quantinuum’s expansion into New Mexico. This is a huge advance in our state's quantum technology development. We're super excited for the partnership with the Quantum New Mexico Institute @UNM. New Mexico is a Quantum State!
New Mexico! We are coming! We are excited to announce that Quantinuum plans to establish a key presence in the state of New Mexico.

Great work from a collaboration between @SandiaLabs and @UNM led by CQuIC students Matt Chow and @Because_Vikas with @SivaprasadOman1. Check it out!
Our paper is published in PRX Quantum today! We explore how to deal with leakage errors and atom loss in Neutral atom systems. Great Collaboration with folks at Sandia, and UNM colleagues @SivaprasadOman1 and @ihdeutsch

And just for fun, here is another photo from this workshop. Can you name any of these people?
John Klauder was one of my heroes. His work on canonical quantum phase space theory is a thing of beauty that greatly influenced me. Here I am as a grad student, meeting him & another hero, the young Carl Caves, in Santa Fe NM, 1991 at a foundations of quantum mechanics workshop

I had a few interactions with John at @ufphysics, and he always lent an ear, even to untrained undergrads. There was not a hint of the usual academic hierarchy in him. I wish I could share with him the things we are working on now.

And a bonus — we can do this and cool the atoms at the same time!! Great work with @SivaprasadOman1 and @Because_Vikas
Can we convert atom loss to an erasure error for neutral atoms? In my latest work with @Because_Vikas, Michael J. Martin, and @ihdeutsch on arXiv https://t.co/UU4ZR4Li14, we give a framework to do it.
