Ive definitely found this to be a huge productivity boost. I usually run a code-server instance on a VM and i can plugin from anywhere but the cost implications do worry me. Maybe a naive concern but i see this working for big orgs.
I think the next 3-5 years of software development will focus on "remocal" dev environments e.g. a hybrid remote-to-local setup π€ - Full-local dev doesn't scale with microservices, containers, and K8s etc - Adoption of full-remote with brownfield can be hard Read on 𧡠π
