In 1889, Van Gogh painted a portrait of Dr. Felix Rey - the doctor who treated his ear. Rey didn't like it, so his mother used it to patch a hole in the family's chicken coop. The portrait, housed at the Pushkin Museum, now has an estimated value of more than $50 million.
