“In 1900, contemporary observers well might have remarked that the electric dynamos were to be seen ‘everywhere but in the productivity statistics!’”

“You can see the computer age everywhere but in the productivity statistics.” - Robert Solow, 1987. “Many observers of recent trends in the industrialized economies of the West have been perplexed by the conjecture of rapid technological innovation with disappointingly slow gains
real productivity gains for prior technological advances came not from individual workers learning to use eg electricity, the internet but entire workflows, factories, processes, businesses being set up around the use of new tools (in other words, management).

But what is the next phase for a sphincter logo?. My least favorite:.- OpenAI “Aperture Science” sphincter.- Anthropic “Art Attack” sphincter.- Perplexity “TIE fighter” sphincter. All worse than free stock vectors

A quick mockup of what “bringing beauty to billions” will probably look like:
1/ Today we’re proud to announce a partnership with @midjourney, to license their aesthetic technology for our future models and products, bringing beauty to billions.

Mr Beyer lacks empathy and it shows. The terms “discoverable” and “web search” aren’t easily understood by non-tech folks, as @simonw and others note. The distinction between publishing a “public” link to share it with known recipients (privacy via obscurity) vs TOTALLY PUBLIC to

Finally someone legit to show us the way of the coding agents 🎉. Sorely needed in the space!.
I'm joining Cursor to teach the future of coding!. There are millions of developers learning how to use AI and they need pragmatic advice:. 1. We need to teach new developers strong foundations, so they know what to learn, and how to solve issues when debugging. 2. We need to.

We’re designers who code and it’s still a pain. Our suboptimal workflow:.draft ~70% of UI in Figma > iron out the rest in code > back & forth to keep Figma in sync (but it’s never fully in sync). Feels better to sculpt in the native/living/interactive medium for many reasons, but.
Can’t believe there is no good way to translate a figma design to html/css with perfect fidelity. I don’t care about react. Or even maintainable code. Just give me the css and html/images/svg that perfectly recreate it. Doesn’t exist.

Midjourney’s playing a different game and it’s starting to pay off. As a subscriber, it’s nice to see it all come together: V7's strong aesthetics, deep customization with Profiles, new video model. They’ve always done things differently (no API, all generations are public except.
It's been 3 years since we first made Midjourney available to everyone. Thank you for being a part of our story so far. We're privileged to explore this vast, unimaginable, beautiful future together <3.

This is my favorite visual & snippet from my favorite piece (so far!) by Mr. Karlsson: “6 lessons on agency I learned working at an art gallery”. It's your job to find people who will pay you for your work. And if you want to run your own show, you’ve got to get good at “making

Pretty cool to be a part of this Arctic archival effort, stored just a mile away from the Global Seed Vault. Who knows if future people will ever read the code?. My take-home assignment for Modulz went into the Arctic vault. (Changing my GitHub handle might’ve broken the badge
If you see a github user with this badge it’s because they have code ~1,000 feet underground in the Arctic Circle. 5 years ago Github took a snapshot of all public repos, stored it on photographic film (essentially big QR codes), and stuck it in a mining tunnel.
