While giving a lecture on dialects in my sociolinguistics course this week, I talked about William Labov’s study on /r/ and rhoticity in NYC English. So fun asking students to pronounce “4th floor.” Can’t believe I’m now teaching what I learned from @bridgetelf 7 years ago 🤗.

This year, I’m pleased that my proposals for both TESOL and AAAL were accepted. Can’t wait to (re)connect with my colleagues and friends in Long Beach and Denver 😊 This is only the second time in my career (after 2019) when I’m attending two conferences back to back.

Done with my final TA position (probably!) which allowed me to update the content I taught before based on my dissertation research. Thankful to the wonderful course instructor and the brilliant student-teachers 🙌🏼 I love teacher education and my work.

SO BASICALLY PUBLIC LIBRARIES ARE JUST 0.4% OF THE NEW YORK CITY BUDGET, BUT THE MAYOR IS TRYING TO CUT THE LIBRARY'S BUDGET WAY BACK. I’M TALKING $58.3 MILLION! LIBRARIES ARE ALREADY CLOSED ON SUNDAYS BECAUSE OF PREVIOUS CUTS AND MOST BRANCHES WILL BE OPEN FOR JUST FIVE DAYS A
