i def think this is one of the biggest underlying problems. the story of act 2 is NOT a kids movie. it's a story with fascists, genocide, torture & sex scenes. every scene felt like a constant "sorry we can't actually show you that!" so we see very little action beginning to end
@iamnopilot I’m still very unclear of his role w/ Dorothy & co. in this one. My friend said it’s not explained in the show either. Regardless of the placement of NGD in the story, I bet they didn’t wanna alienate kids from her by making her too cruel for too long. Can’t sell dolls that way.

a failure of Chu & Erivo. It is a requirement of the performance to explain why Elphaba becomes the wicked witch, who does cruel shit to Dorothy. Erivo was too sympathetic to Elphaba ~ unwilling to let her be flawed, which made her apology in For Good unmotivated and forgettable.

i don't think drinking water is healthier than burning alive. dosage dependant ofc. a little bit of sunburn can have positive effects while drinking 200 gallons of water in a day would literally kill you.
I don't think donuts are healthier than crystal meth? dosage dependant ofc, consuming 10 grams of donut is going to make you less dead than 10 grams of meth. but at reasonable doeses amphs have a pretty decent health/safety profile, and sugar is pretty bad for you
