This past week the International Geography Championships were held in Burlington. I spoke at last night's closing ceremonies about how Vermont uses science to reduce emissions and address climate change. Congratulations to all the participants!

We’re trying something new today. Owen placed 2nd in the 6th grade division of the regional qualifier for the National Geography Bee. Thanks @mrgarnersworld for coming to run an awesome competition. @iacompetitions put together a great event for our kids.

Brown v. Board of Ed was decided on #ThisDayinHistory 1954, ruling that racial segregation in public schools is unconstitutional. It was a major victory for the civil rights movement.

This week's #PlayerOTW is Liam Starnes of Barrington, Illinois! Liam competed at the 2016 & 2018 IHOs, where he won 4 medals. In his free time, he enjoys watching Chicago sports teams, playing tennis, and trying to first-line toss-ups on Protobowl.
