One of the most spectacular birds I've ever seen, the Palm Cockatoo is an enigmatic and charismatic bird of Cape York. They have elaborate displays during the breeding season, often using sticks to drum against trees to attract a mate. #palmcockatoo #capeyork

Spent the new year up in Kutini-Payamu National Park in Far North Queensland. Was an epic trip filled with brilliant birds and some amazing herps. Here is a Green Python in ambush we found one of the evenings! #greenpython #kutinipayamunationalpark #ironrange

It’s that time of year when I praise @hpmilne for germinating these beautiful Callistemon pungens form our local area. Who says native flowers can’t flower profusely?

Australia once again cheat their way to a test win by taking 20 wickets and scoring more runs than the opposition. When will the ICC crack down on their nefarious tactics

Does anyone know someone working on an field guide type app for the mammals of Australia? Particularly terrestrial sp. like rodents and marsupials? Would be good to have location set with lists of local mammal sp. similar to Frogs and Snakes of Aus and birding apps. Cheers!

The last paper from my PhD is published, only a couple of years late. Using kinship estimates to show movement between colonies of rock-wallabies. Thanks to my Co-authors Mark Lethbridge, Ben Allen and @RoseLAndrew for all the help. You can read it here: https://t.co/lIMix9nq0G

Also in the same spot as that Diuris, had a number of carnivorous plants. A few different utricularia and drosera, any ideas on the green drosera would be appreciated @GregBourke3 ? Think the red one is spatulata. #ozplants

A new Diuris for me, described by Lachlan Copeland, he currently lists it as a Diuris sp. aff. alba (Swamps) “New England Donkey Orchid”. Found in a small area of the NTs it can be locally common, such as the place we found these, with 1-200 plants in a 100m2 area. Epic stuff!
