We are working toward the formation of a harmonized hippocampal subfield segmentation method for MRI
Joined April 2019
First training on the harmonized protocol for subfields in hippocampal body is in the books! Grateful for the leadership of @DrAnaDaugherty & @rosanna_olsen, training support of @ThackeryBrown, @kelseylcanada, & @radmangustaf, & resources created by @negar_mazloum.

We anticipate that our paper on quality control (QC) will be an incredibly helpful resource for those of you doing any type of MRI segmentation work. For those doing hippocampal subfield work, we cover common segmentation errors and offer practical guidance on the topic of QC.
We are thrilled to finally share our newest paper led by @kelseylcanada & @negar_mazloum, with senior authors @rosanna_olsen & @DrAnaDaugherty! We provide guidance on quality control and reporting practices for hippocampal subfields. 🫶🏻🧠 Link:

We aimed to provide researchers w/ options to maximally retain reliable & valid data to support inferences; & work toward a standard of reporting to facilitate comparisons between studies. We are grateful to all co-authors & those who contributed their time on the QC survey.✨

One of the most common questions I get from colleagues and trainers is how to QC hippocampal subfield data. We now have a preprint out on this important topic!
Happy #SubfieldWednesday HSGers! We're excited to share a preprint highlighting recent HSG efforts. Lead by @kelseylcanada and @negar_mazloum, we provide a review and recommendations of best practices for the quality control (QC) of hippocampal subfield segmentations. 🍤🥳 1/5

We take an à la carte approach in this guide, anticipating investigators may choose to implement some or all of the practices we review. The goal of this guidance is to improve the quality of data and transparency in reporting within the hippocampal subfields literature. 🫶 5/5

Using the responses of 37 investigators on views and approaches to QC we: - Provide recommendations for correcting errors to maximize reliability and minimize bias - Summarize threats to segmentation accuracy - Review common QC methods - Guide reporting of QC in publications 4/5
