We received several fonts and were able to further improve our algorithm. FontCreator now also identifies and fixes interpolation issues that are nearly impossible to detect.

The previous reduction was partly due to a bug that incorrectly compressed ligatures; sorry about that. Here is an updated version. Exports are all made with FontCreator 14.0.0.2872. Reduction is gained by removing unused glyphs and optimized storage of variation and OT features.

What could be more satisfying than squeezing a few more bytes out of a font?

Is there a good resource on making a cjk/hangul font if you have experience with cjk/hangul design and also typeface design in general? I mainly want to save time in the technical side

We are currently testing upcoming improvements in FontCreator that better identify technical interpolation issues in variable fonts. So far, over 60% of the variable fonts we tested have such issues. If you have a font you're about to release, PM us and we'll test it.
