since no one seems to have figured it out, the image is using an indexed color palette which is often used to bypass jpg compression on here, when resizing the image the palette was kept and it picked the magenta as an in-between color of black and and white
Why is pfp less purple the closer it gets.

i know this tweet ain't gonna be seen by many ppl but i SWEAR minecraft has been going down constantly for the past month and no one is mentioning it, down detector be on smth because i know 4 people who have had issues with skins loading and the authentication server failing.
