I kinda think the issue is we simply can’t justify signing another CB or GK with the amount in wages/transfer fee that we currently have on our books. I think I agree.
@henrysaye So that potentially brings us back to a lack of investment due to a potential takeover. Or because BBM can’t get who he wants until PL clubs are ready to deal.

No. It’s budget constraints. It is always budget constraints. Sometimes there isn’t much you can do due to FFP and the implications of that. Budget constraints will even impact loans due to the loan fee paid.
@Savigma @henrysaye Is bbm just being fussy at this point? Many clubs in league one have signed players I would have been happy with.

No. It’s either looking what we can pick up in free agents or loans. That would change depending on player sales.
@henrysaye Or we havent found the players we want available yet because our new manager hasnt been in the job long, we have a large squad, and he wanted to assess existing players first?.

I agree with Nigel. We are just sluggish. Appointments, signings have to be signed off and we are just very slow.

It’s much harder to find the right profile if you can only work within the loan market. I’ve said we will sign loans. If BBM had a budget to play with it would be much easier to identify players. Tan is playing a dangerous game. Promotion has to be the aim.
@Savigma @henrysaye I’m going with Sav on option 3- BBM is involved and will run everything, he’s not letting our below par recruitment team pick shit for us like recent managers if they don’t fit his way or style. Not signing players for the sake of it, great to see, 4 loans be great by end of Aug.

So the lack of signings can only be two options - potential takeover or there is no cash in the kitty. You prey it’s option 1. Option 2 changes based on a few player sales. Again, I don’t believe BBM is the hold up and he is doing a remarkable job so far in the circumstances.

Let’s be crystal clear. I’m not saying I think we get top 2. I’m saying it isn’t optional - we have to. It’s the lack of investment during such a critical offseason tells me something is happening behind the scenes. A few good loans will help the team.
@henrysaye I want to believe but I am not convinced Henry. I don’t think we will cope with the physicality of League One. I think the players will get battered from pillar to post in a lot of the games.

We have missed way more than we have hit when it comes to CBs. Kipré and Phillips have been the only successes. Maybe due to our budget limitations we have to wait until squads are finished before we can make a loan move for CB? - this makes sense to me.
@henrysaye Sure, but most fans seem to be saying we need to strengthen at CB because we keep conceding, we did strike it lucky with one loan CB but other than that the most recent couple ended up not even being back up.

Has to be top 2 unless we have a fire sale between now and deadline day. A few decent loans will help. It would be top spot if we suddenly started to spend money.

What have I been saying that they will be loans?. It’s how you take that they are loans is what is interesting in my opinion.
Exciting week ahead for Cardiff City I’m else to believe from a transfer perspective. GK will arrive with CB,LB and a winger lined up. City have been forced to wait with targets on tour / clubs seeing if better options from a loan perspective.

I would genuinely just sit back. I wouldn’t try and predict anything. BBM not be backed in the transfer window tells me something is happening. Much easier to fjnd the profile you want when you have money to spend rather than having to use loans.

We just continue to wait. The transfers are starting to roll in via loan. @theninianmike I did say we would sign players via loan. Does that count?.
