𧡠Young creatives often ask me how I land the projects and brands I work with and my answer is simple: create *personal* work that would attract the brands you want to work with. 3 years ago, I didn't have a 3D/CG portfolio. I was working in identity, branding and packaging.

PSA to creatives/artists: do not hand over your 3d working files to a client unless you are work for hire or it's explicitly agreed on in your contract. Those files are your creative IP and you should charge A LOT for them. It's like asking a chef for their secret sauce recipe.

I think career switches and pivots need to be more normalized. Are we really expecting to have the same career our entire lives? . IMO it's a little ridiculous the weight we (in the US) put on kids and students to figure out what they want to do when they "grow up".

I'm a huge advocate of a creative practice. *It doesn't have to be grueling* . It's the consistency that matters. For example, today my brain is scattered so I'm just doing planning and looking at inspo. I don't force myself to produce work all the time. I need some recovery.

Heres a deeper dive into the art I created - This project challenged me in so many great ways. I brought a lot of myself into this project - my Japanese American background, wanting to see more representation and the using symbolic objects from Japanese culture.
βWithout that human touch, I wouldnβt have been able to create this fantastical world. The role artists play in crafting these AI models is vital and impacts the whole creative processβ. See how @helloharuko brought her own personality and childhood to the story:

As strange as this sounds, when I created my Chrome Condiments, I had envisioned them as huge canvas prints, like 5ft tall rather than living purely in the digital space. I think I need to make this a reality this year and print at least one of these at that scale for myself!
