Build Better KC was a success! The panel was incredible I presented my plans to address pervasive violence while discussing the state of mental health in #KansasCity My challenge from the @Surgeon_General for our community is to commit 4 the next 5 days in building connections!

Depression is treatable and there’s a ton of research-backed treatment options so don’t give up! It can get better!

Instead of saying, “I am Depressed” Start saying, “I have Depression”

There’s a problem with how we use language around mental illness. For example, the most common way to say it is “I am Depressed”. We make it into our defective identity and that’s where Depression Color’s our Perception of Ourselves.
