Miracles do happen. Xena had been found, released from being trackside on the railway & is now home. She is very hungry & has cuts on her paws from the brambles but is otherwise fine. Massive thanks to everyone who has sent messages &has looked for her. We are so 😊
I love the suggestion for a lenten challenge fo sending a card each day to someone to say thanks for their friendship. Not sure its economically possible from France so might send messages via social media. Thanks

Re the lack of tomatoes etc atm...does anyone remember the days when all these things were not available out of season??? We have become a society where we take all this for granted. No one suffered from a lack of tomatoes in February when I was young.
Geoff has just returned from a dental appointment where all the staff told him how pleased they were that Xena had been found. They had been following her story on FB :)
Not sure whether to laugh or cry this morning. My phone has just "sent" me one of those photo memory montages of photos of me over several years...& I'm still wearing most of the clothes years on! Note to self...go shopping for some new stuff!
Counting my blessings challenge Day 22. What else could it be today but to report how blessed &thankful I am that our lovely dog Xena has been found &is back home safe & sound :)
@SusanCalman
Wow...do they still sell Angel Delight?? I remember that & Fray Bentos steak & kidney pies as being the staple diet of many caravan holidays with my parents!
Off now to Ambridge but just before I go let me say again how well the sws are doing with this alcoholism storyline. I talked this week with someone who has been through all this & he said it's 100% accurate especially the way family & friends are reacting. Here goes

Morning my lovelies...& what a lovely bright morning it is today now that our beloved doggy Xena is safely back home. I`m not sure how many lives dogs are supposed to have but she certainly has used up quite a few over the last few days :)
My grandchildren are off on their sponsored hill climb to raise money for their local cat shelter. All their own idea. So far they have been pledged £250. Very proud of them :)
I am so sick of seeing all these photos of rubbish being left behind on beaches &at beauty spots. What is the matter with people these days. PUT IT IN A BIN OR TAKE IT HOME!
So glad we went to the silent vigil in Carlisle to show solidarity with the people in Ukraine. It was very moving. My heart went out to those who have family there
Lovely day with our grandchildren at last. Picnic,walk,lots of jumping over pools,playing with the dog...&all under a cloudless blue sky. They loved their new knitted toys too. Happy grandma tonight :)
Bonjour mes amis. 45 years ago we were doing this. I'm told it's a sapphire anniversary but the sapphire must be in the post! Not to worry I still have a gold hearted man ...& I still love him with all my ♥ :)
People of Carlisle. Our dog Xena has disappeared in Bitts Park this morning. Totally unlike her to have run off. We think she may have fallen in the river. Please if you see her can you let us know.
Posh frock dilemma solved. Borrowing strappy dress from my daughter (who've thought it!!) & a nice little bolero from the Op shop. Just the shoes to sort now &I'm done :)
Just had to drive along the coast from Whitley Bay to Tynemouth this morning for old times sake &to see some "proper sea", as my auntie always called it, with waves
As it is tradition in France to give a bunch of muguet (lily of the valley) to friends & family on may 1st I share this painting I did a while ago with you all today to wish you good luck, good health & much happiness.
Thank you all for all the good wishes you have sent me today. I have had a lovely day, finished off in style with a superb meal & cake made by
@HRoyleSolicitor
& Phil.
Great news...Geoff has got his bike back. Caretaker found it thrown away in the bushes. He thinks the theives were kids who decided they didn`t like the look of it! Very pleased to have it back...but not so pleased as it looks like it will have to live in the hall now :(
I was extremely touched by my friend Liz today who gave me this. I had my RVI hospital badge (along with all my other nursing badges) stolen several years ago &have never been able to replace them. This one was Liz's mums. She died recently & Liz wanted me to have it.
Good morning my lovelies. Its May 1st today...so I`ll wish you all good luck & happiness in the traditional French way with a bunch of muguet (lily of the valley)
When in the Rennie Macintosh/Miss Cranston Willow tea rooms in Glasgow, it would have been rude not to partake of tea & a scone. I might have to not eat tomorrow!
I feel incredibly sad at the news of the Queen's death. Whether you support the monarchy or not she was one remarkable lady &carried out her promise to serve her country to the very end didn't she? RIP your majesty
Am i the only one who finds this continuous obsession with reporting the death rates totally unhelpful & depressing? How about telling us about the ones who get better?
Our "cafe church" idea was a huge success today. We had a minor panic in that we thought we had not got enough food &we had to quickly put up more tables but all in all it was really good.
Another nice "date day" in the Lakes. Had lunch in Ambleside &then Geoff went off to explore the Amitt Museum whilst I explored the shops! The sun even came out for our drive home 😀
I know this will sound strange to those who do not know it but Carlisle cemetery is a wonderful place! The trees are old & huge & atm the spring flowers are beautiful. So many ancient & fascinating gravestones too. And we still haven`t seen the deer which live there
Bonjour mes amis. What were you all doing on Sept 16th 1978? We were doing this! We may look a bit older,&the hair is a lot greyer &abundant...but the 💘 continues.
Eye procedure done & my vision is returning to normal now. Feeling a bit drained as always after these stressful days. Mind you I did get a bravery award sticker today! i love the staff at the eye clinic :)
I think you lot may be in for a treat from me soon. I got not one but two new poetry books yesterday. And you all know how much I love reading poetry aloud. Move over
@GylesB1

We will be going to vote later in the Council elections but I have to admit I`ve no idea who I`m voting for. Don`t candidates feel the need to inform would be voters these days what their policies are? We have not recieved any information at all.
Well...the flat is in amazingly good nick thank goodness. Once we figured out how to work the electric blinds we are now sitting on our balcony looking at the sea &eating lunch :)
Time to mention here that I was talking to a real french farmer at our village do last night...about his herd of Montbeliard cows. My OH forebade me to mention
#thearchers
Decided to take a picnic up into the hills today to try &get away from the wind. Drove up to Notre Dame des Anges in the Massif des Maures. Lovely drive. The wild flowers, butterflies & views were fab :)
Morning all. Yeah...the sun is shining! We are off to meet our son & the grandchildren outside today & it looks like our pic nic will not be in the rain as Phillips family pic nics usually are! Fingers crossed :)
Judging by the number of likes Her knitted Majesty has received since I posted her photo, I should go into production! I`m not going to btw...I knit for pleasure thes days & although I am pleased with HM, she was not my favourite project!
