Did you know we operate a virtual A&E service which provides you with urgent video and telephone access to a team of emergency care specialists? If you think you need to visit A&E, but it's not life-threatening, consider using this service. You could be seen and treated faster.

"I live over an hour from Raigmore Hospital so @NHSNearMe was brilliant for me. I was able to continue to work from home, & just take a short time out to speak with the consultant. This prevented me from taking a minimum of 3 hrs out of work" - General Surgery #FeedbackFriday

I will say it again...we only give people real choice if we put in place a system that offers it. Consultant preference for a 3 minute appointment should not be the deciding factor. @JonCamer0n @mgtwhoriskey @NHSNearMe

@NHSNearMe An older friend of mine (65years+) had a 3 min consultant appointment recently. Her husband drove 150miles for a verbal, no hands on, no diagnostic appt. It took a whole day. They asked for tel or NearMe appt but was told the consultant preferred in person.Who’s choice is it?
