Yet again, British Airways ground staff turn away passengers after inventing passport rules. Standard procedure: Blame passengers, even though their documents are valid. When challenged, blame them again. Only accept responsibility when media get involved. https://t.co/Zfxn36mS82

EU entry-exit system. Six days remain before British travellers face fingerprinting and facial biometrics when travelling to Europe. The Czechs tell me all travellers at Prague and other airports will be checked from 12 October, whether checking in or out. https://t.co/1JLroWvPRs

@SimonCalder Sorry, but @jet2tweets appear to also want to make up their own rules as I’m still pursuing flight compensation for a 27 hour delay….I have emails from @jet2tweets saying they had internal issues with crew etc but STILL refuse to pay out !!??

Taking 3 days off work next week, causing absolute chaos across western Europe. No, not me: French air-traffic controllers, who will strike from Tuesday morning, 7 October, through to Friday morning, 10 October. UK-Spain flights likely to be worst affected https://t.co/xFVtt163Hm

Sadly, many British travellers are correctly turned away at airports because their passports are not eligible for the EU. Your passport must: Be issued no more than 10 years ago on day of entry to EU. Have three months remaining on intended day of return. https://t.co/64p56jpNxm

Northern Spain thriving like never before, says Spanish Tourist Office: 65% surge in British visitors to the Basque country compared with last year. For Spain as a whole: UK travellers from March to May sharply increased, while June/July saw a slight fall. https://t.co/opjGlDGgfv

@SimonCalder Although airlines are fined thousands by the destination country for allowing a passenger to travel on an invalid travel document, they have to pay only hundreds in compensation for disallowing a passenger to travel on a valid travel document. This imbalance should be eliminated.

@SimonCalder @SimonCalder I’m an unpaid carer for my adult disabled son. I’m due to return from Biarritz to Edinburgh on 9th after a short respite break. I’m extremely worried as my son requires 24 hour care at home. If Ryanair cancels the flight do I have any rights to help me get home?

Man vs Bus. I went toe-to-tyre against the C10 bus from Victoria station in London to Canada Water in Docklands. Could I stroll the route as speedily as the excellent driver could navigate through the capital’s traffic? https://t.co/HzQzSGh0nS

9 days to the EU entry-exit system France will ask Eurostar passengers: "Do you have sufficient funds to support yourself during your stay (credit card, cash)?" Each country specifies the daily funds it wants you to have, eg Latvia £12 France £57 Spain £99 https://t.co/AsbFcwrvql

Rail ticketing. The digital pay-as-you-go system began on East Midlands Railway on the Leicester-Derby-Nottingham triangle this month. It tracks your smartphone and calculates the fare for the journey. Now available on Northern between Leeds and Harrogate. https://t.co/54jdcpkxDC

@SimonCalder For years we have gone to Belgium and the Netherlands on the ferry. Our passports were always checked going in and out. Since Brexit, the only difference is, you now get a stamp. A few seconds extra, but my God. So many people think it is the end of the world

10 days to the EU entry-exit system: all you need to know about facial biometrics and fingerprinting at borders. No need to organise anything in advance. This is just an extra layer of red tape. Manual passport checking/stamping will continue for 6 months. https://t.co/bAiWxlr8Y6
