It seems crazy to me that @Nestle are still printing RedCycle logos on packaging. The company went bankrupt in 2021 after lying about recycling the plastic! They let the domain expire immediately. I own the domain Redcycle .net but it’s been so long I forgot I even bought it

Hello @Coles it is completely unacceptable to be printing this on current packaging. Redcycle collapsed in November 2022, so you haven’t ‘recycled’ anything this way for over a year. Why are you still printing this?

they’re still printing the RedCycle logo on things despite it being bankrupt the whole of 2023. It’s just about keeping up appearance than actually doing anything, so of course they do

“Just months after that ban came into force, Australia's largest soft plastic recycling program REDcycle collapsed, following revelations that soft plastics collected at Woolworths and Coles were being stockpiled for months at warehouses and not recycled” https://t.co/tmBaGlIVIT

A new breed of plastics recyclers have risen from the ashes of the failed REDcycle program, proposing new facilities to turn soft plastics waste into oil.  But a lack of government policy is hampering progress.  https://t.co/MBuiQ65Ijw

Reduce, reuse, advance recycle. ♻ With REDcycle no longer in operations, you may be wondering if that’s a wrap on soft plastic recycling. *Enter advanced recycling* Read more: https://t.co/S0xJtw6xeQ

RedCycle went under in Nov 2022 after EPA found they were hiding stockpiles of packaging instead of recycling them. Collection in Au stores stopped in Feb 2023. So why are you still printing them on your packaging over a year after they folded @purinaaustralia ?

Coles and Woolworths have identified a total of 44 sites where REDcycle had been stockpiling soft plastics. This shows why we need mandated recycling targets where there’s a financial penalty for failure to meet those recycling targets.
