Canada’s Black Justice Strategy is just the beginning. We will not stop working toward a more inclusive future. Today, on Emancipation Day, I reflect on how systemic racism, rooted in Canada’s history of colonialism, slavery & segregation continues to affect Black communities.

10 years ago it never even crossed my mind to make sure the doors were locked when the hubby runs in somewhere & I’m waiting alone in our truck. 10 years ago I didn’t have a neighbour post in our community page about a van full of guys caught on camera breaking into his house.
