Last week our CARE representatives had their first meeting. These elected third through eighth graders developed a CARE declaration. Creating space for campus leaders in all grades to exhibit social and emotional leadership is what helps create #SuccessAtSummit

As a part of our first grader's ongoing economics and business unit, they participated in Market Day last week. This helped students understand the basics of making purchases and how limited resources means you have to make a choice. #SuccessAtSummit

Academic rigor is an important part of the Summit experience. The focus for 8th grade science is physics and chemistry. Students were introduced to the concept of speed and using the speed formula to determine distance and time. #SuccessAtSummit

Today is National STEM/STEAM Day! The day is an opportunity to focus on helping kids advance in the fields of science, technology, engineering, art, and math. Summit is dedicated to ensuring that our students are equipped with 21st century skills. #SuccessAtSummit

Seventh grade worked on a team building activity that required teamwork, collaboration, creativity, and adaptability. Students were given 30 seconds to start drawing a picture and then they had to pass it to the student next to them. #SuccessAtSummit

This week some of our preschoolers are working to reenforce their number recognition skills by making Witches' Brew. We love how creative our teachers get when helping our littlest learners. #SuccessAtSummit

What can air do? Second graders used a variety of materials to help them find the answer to this question. They gathered observational data, which was then recorded in personal journals. This data was then analyzed as a class to answer the focus question. #SuccessAtSummit

Students in Kelly Makay's fifth grade class are working on their personal narrative skills. Students are practicing their ability to tell a compelling story through inventive language and literary devices. #SuccessAtSummit

Some of Summit's sixth grade math students engaged in productive struggle math problems through divisibility teamwork. Students had to employ skills in communication, justification, critical thinking, and collaboration to complete this exercise! #SuccessAtSummit

Last week, third, fourth, and fifth graders headed to @childsplayaz to see The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane, adapted from the novel by Kate DiCamillo. Each grade read the book and seeing it on stage helped deepen their understanding. #SuccessAtSummit
