@TheOxfordMail If there's an illegal market for something, it's because demand is not being met by the legal market. People who would sell illegal products appear not to care much about age restrictions. The only way to effectively combat illegal markets is to reduce taxes & repeal bans.

@MembersHealth Okay, but … this position is often asserted by rebate proponents, but rarely demonstrated as, in fact, likely to be effective. The intro of the full 30% rebate in Jan 99 did NOT significantly alter #PHI coverage. It was LHC the following year which moved the needle. #auspol

@MembersHealth Maybe so, but if the #PHI sector wants ⬆️ support, mere assertion is not gonna cut it. It will need to prove (presumably with some very good modelling) that it WILL have the desired effect. Good luck, bc my recollection is that the last live trial of that theory didn’t work out.
