Year 6 had a fascinating science lesson today. They got hands-on investigating the functions of the heart by dissecting lambs' hearts🫀 The pupils were so engaged and asked some brilliant questions. #MPPAScience

Year 5 started their Science topic ‘Earth and Space’ with a human Solar System model. They explored the location and size of different planets and learnt the mnemonic for remembering the order of planets. #mppascience #WeareLEO

Year 5 turned into scientists today and investigated air resistance. They worked hard to ensure they only had 1 variable and had to measure their parachutes before testing. We found that the lighter the material the more it was affected by air resistance. #mppascience

Year 6 scientists rocked their lesson on the circulatory system! 🤩 They learned to find their pulse and investigated the direct impact of exercise on their heart rate. The faster the activity, the higher the bpm! Great job collecting and analysing data! #MPPAScience

Year 5 became scientists and explored friction in their very own experiment. They made predictions, decided on variables and carried out their tests before writing them up like a scientist! #WeAreLEO #mppascience

Year 3 have explored how joints work by doing an experiment using straws and string. We realised that in order to bend, we needed to cut the straw in half. This works just like joints do! We learnt about the importance of hinge, pivot and ball and socket joints! #MPPAScience

Year 1 loved exploring the plants and trees at Morden Hall Park today. They used viewfinders to spot different species and made an observational drawing of a plant of their choice. 🔍🌿 #WeAreLEO #MPPAscience

Awesome natural selection activity for Year 6! They used tweezers to pick up yellow and green circles, simulating how birds find food. The big discovery? The green circles were super camouflaged and much trickier to collect! Hands-on learning at its best! #weareLEO #MPPAScience
