Getting closer to #Lib80 here in @StJohnJersey

Happy Liberation Day! This precious colour footage was shot on 9 May 1945 by Dr Mortimer Evans, capturing the joy of the crowds. It is included in our new FREE 'Life after Liberation' exhibition at #JerseyMuseum, one of the ways we are marking this year's #Lib80 celebrations.

Exhibits keep coming in @StJohnJersey for our #Lib80 Exhibition (3 to 11 May) I wasn’t expecting to see the boots that my Gran wore throughout that period to turn up, but they have.

We’re about to launch ‘Mémouaithe: a Liberation journal’, a new project to mark #Lib80 next year. We've used diaries written in 1944-45 to create a series of videos to tell the story of the last days of #Occupation. Starts on #Xmas Eve so watch this space! #Memories @InsCorpCI

Our newly-opened FREE exhibition ‘Life After Liberation – the road to recovery’ at #JerseyMuseum is one of the ways we are celebrating #Lib80. It shares the story of what happened after 9 May 1945 and the challenges and opportunities #JerseyCI faced. #OurIslandStory @BenestSyvret
