Startling imagery from 'Dead of Night', the 1945 horror portmanteau movie from #EalingFilms, basically a template-production for those movies from Amicus (and others) that began in the 1960s. One of Michael Redgrave's notable genre roles

This is sad. The Red Lion at #Ealing lovingly known as Stage Six due to its connection to Ealing Studios and the many famous actors who worked there and drank in the pub is set to close. The pizzas were phenomenal. History decked the walls. I hope it reopens soon. #EalingFilms

#RetroDVD of the day. #DeadOfNight, 1945, #EalingFilms, various directors. One of, if not THE first horror anthology films. Plus, unrelated in all but name #DeadOfNight TV series, 1972, #BBC. Ran for 1 season. Only 3 of its 7 episodes survive, but what there is is bloody creepy!

Kind Hearts and Coronets, 1949. Directed by Robert Hamer. Starring: Dennis Price, Joan Greenwood, Valerie Hobson and Alec Guinness. The Italian lobby cards for the Ealing films were great. #ealingfilms #kindheartsandcoronets #alecguinness

Well I never knew that Audrey Hepburn appeared in The Lavender Hill Mob, 1951, she appears in the opening scene playing the role of Chiquita. It was her film debut. 👉 https://t.co/Hfn16LAAUm

Look out for a 17 year old Sally Ann Howes as Kate Nickleby. Sally is best known as Truly Scrumptious in 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' (1968). #ealingfilms #EalingStudios #Britishcinema

'The Feminine Touch' was one of the last #EalingFilms and came out in 1956. It followed tgecstory of 5 Student Nurses, the lambs and featured Belinda Lee and George Baker alongside Delphi Lawrence and just about everyone in British Cinema at the time.@mgboyington @vrw123
