Have been recording lectures on Discrete Differential Geometry for remote teaching. Here for instance is a broad overview of the idea of *curvature* for those who haven't studied it before (or maybe also for those who have!): https://t.co/LGrynZSM0H #DiscreteDifferentialGeometry

Uploaded the first of two lectures on curvature for triangle meshes: https://t.co/dsIPoB01SR Part I introduces classic scalar- and vector-valued curvature quantities; Part II paints a unified picture of how all these quantities are actually related! #DiscreteDifferentialGeometry

A discrete immersion is more than a map with nonzero lengths and angles: it must also avoid branch points. #DiscreteDifferentialGeometry

@mathemaniac There’s a beautiful recent paper by Padilla et al that models this process mathematically and computationally (with stunningly accurate results): https://t.co/KdU8xxki6W (One of these is a simulation; the other is a photograph:) #DiscreteDifferentialGeometry

Looks like another great series of high-quality talks on #GeometryProcessing and #DiscreteDifferentialGeometry (similar in spirit to the super successful Toronto Geometry Colloquium @GeometryToronto).

@wiersma_ruben We did three iterations of #DiscreteDifferentialGeometry: C++, Python, JS/WebGL. The latter works *way* better than the first two (especially for non-CS majors), but only because they can edit native JS code *in-browser*. No linker errors; no emscripten.
