This picture is so many things! How genrefying has changed how kids use the library. It is about one of these boys who used to hate reading until he found something hilarious! It shows the power of kids recommending books to kids. I am just happy I got to catch it! #DCDSReads

Junior Kindergarten has learned the difference between fiction and nonfiction. After reading about elephants on PebbleGo they enjoyed the book Strictly No Elephants. Then used felt shapes to make their own pet to join the Pet Club. We even used puppets as our models. #dcdsreads

Kindergartners were book care detectives! They investigated what happened to each book and figured out ways to keep it from happening again! One of my favorite borrowed lessons from @illinimccoy! #dcdsreads #mischoollibary

Great stuff here! Author Kelly J. Baptist visited the Middle School. Before her visit, 4th-6th grade students read some of her stories. They participated in decision-making activities and engaged Kelly with insightful questions about writing and her life. #DCDSreads #DCDSfun
