I turn beer into software. To be honest I don't drink or code much anymore these days, but I'm trying to hold onto my youth.

"Congrats?" is my favorite phrase of our modern world. The question mark is key.

I'm convinced we could pay off our entire federal debt if we put the richest guy in the world in charge of finding ways to save money for a few months.
I’m convinced we could pay off our entire national debt by doing 3 simple things: 1. Ban all non-citizens from welfare programs 2. Strict, enforceable work requirement for EBT/SNAP/Section 8 3. Mass prosecute welfare fraud with federal prison time for stealing from taxpayers

🟡 NEW: The man at the heart of a mixup that rippled through global political journalism in the final days of the New York mayoral campaign was neither “falsely claiming” to be former Mayor Bill de Blasio, nor a “de Blasio impersonator.” https://t.co/i2ML5nFjQz

Um, what happened to @argv0's twitter account? Can someone at twitter fix what I assume is a hack. Or just delete it maybe. Super weird to see a dead man's account pretending to be a celebrity. (cc @nikitabier)

Me: the baseball game went 18 innings last night! @alicetiara: How many do they normally go 12? Me: 9! You don't know how many innings are in a baseball game? @alicetiara: Literally why would I care about that? How many fashion collections are there in a year?

I don't have a problem with House of Dynamite's ending. I do have a problem with the fairly obvious plot hole. Five minutes with @ChatGPTapp suggests some worthwhile possibilities for fixing it. It's almost weird this doesn't happen at this point.

The very uncomfortable feeling of hosting a party with a fair number of rambunctious kids and then finding what appears to be a yanked out wall anchor the next day. But having no idea where it came from.

The modal story trying to connect water usage by data centers to larger problems around water is full of lies. This one by the @nytimes is no exception. Should be embarrassing for @paulmozur and @emiliano_mega but they probably don't care.
This new article from the NYT is one of the most blatant misrepresentations of the AI water issue I've seen. A ton of pictures and close-ups of faucets run dry and people suffering from drought, with a subtitle saying "When Microsoft opened a data center in central Mexico last

@nilocobau @taylortrule TBH, not sure what to say about this one at all. But it clearly deserves a place in this thread.

I know this story is about weird young people and not weird old people but I can't help but think about maybe the best part about One Battle After Another: The Christmas Adventurers Club. It's not just that these people suck. It's also that they're fucking weirdos.
EXCLUSIVE: Thousands of leaked messages show leaders of Young Republican groups joking about gas chambers, slavery and rape in a private Telegram chat. Inside rising GOP leaders’ racist chats — obtained by POLITICO and spanning more than 7 months👇

It happened years ago, but apparently I got an academic journal to issue a correction for an elementary math error. I never noticed until today when someone e-mailed me out of the blue to tell me. 1) https://t.co/6trro6vlfg 2)
