My heart is breaking for every homeless person that is left to freeze to death outside. They are using their last once of mental fortitude while starving, sleep deprived, alone, scared, freezing, while likely battling illness, to survive without any means.

HATS secured a privately owned site for 10 cabins on Barton, but councillors have told staff to examine public options. That direction delays a council decision on whether to provide an immediate grant of $100,000 to support the grassroots project #HamOnt https://t.co/ZT3A9HmOe1

@TheSpec This delay by Council is really disappointing. HATS is a good temporary solution. People are DYING on our streets and the cold weather is already here. Where is their sense of urgency? On this week's OShow we will have an expert panel on the homeless and housing crisis! #hamont

Inspiring forum hosted by @TenantAdvocacy today! Many excellent resources were shared. We like this one from the Federal Housing Advocate which explains what "financialization of housing" is in a straightforward way, and links to more research.

Piglet was so excited at the idea of being Useful that he forgot to be frightened any more. 'What about me?' said Pooh sadly. 'I suppose I shan't be useful?' 'Never mind, Pooh,' said Piglet comfortingly. 'Another time perhaps.’ ~A.A.Milne #useful #tuesdaymotivations

Some seniors are facing 20% increase to their rents, which is egregious. It's allowed, of course, because of the 2018 loophole. Even though it's legal, it's damaging to renters & increases economic evictions. https://t.co/J327qsADK2
