Oh the quiet existence of academics! I think I am addicted to the endless pump of adrenaline after missing deadlines and sleeping 2 hrs for 5 days in a row. I don’t hate myself. I believe this is how I am checking if there is still something alive inside me.

When choosing a supervisor: not important the where did they get their PhD/ fellowships/ etc. Too often those things reflect a mix of talent & privilege. Professors are already in academia. What makes the difference is the how they treat you. It is all about kindness.
