Thank you to @Ray_McCann55 and Tax Minister Dan Tomlinson for sparing their time to help me with my latest series of reports into #loancharge. Keen to hear views from anyone affected by this deeply flawed policy. Please get in touch at greg.wright@iconicmedia.co.uk.

Ahmed is a real-life hero. Last night, his incredible bravery no doubt saved countless lives when he disarmed a terrorist at enormous personal risk. It was an honour to spend time with him just now and to pass on the thanks of people across NSW.

'tis the year's midnight and the day's ... ( or was, with the Julian calendar) St Lucy's Day - but we have the sublime John Donne Nocturnall - one of the most profoundly despairing poems ever written but also one of the most moving. Read it out loud at sunset with a stiff scotch

"Oft a flood, Have we two wept, and so, Drown'd the whole world, us two." John Donne wrote A Nocturnal Upon St. Lucy's Day #otd 1627. I think this magical, mystical verse celebrating the shortest day of the year might just be the greatest poem ever written #SantaLucia

'Tis the year's midnight, and it is the day's, Lucy's, who scarce seven hours herself unmasks. Today is St Lucy's Day, which was once the date of the winter solstice - the saint of light in the darkest days of winter. This luminous medieval St Lucy is from Minster Lovell.

My latest @yorkshirepost commentary: "Ā In an age when our lives seem to revolve around smartphones, it’s worth remembering that the technological revolution hasn’t reached everyone. Digital exclusion has painful economic consequence." https://t.co/vstnRvw0Vm
