Many thanks to @ohaiom for putting this together. Donald Trump must never be close to the Oval Office, with the nuclear codes, and affecting the fates of women, minorities, our children, our economy, and our security ever, ever again.
Lots of people seem to have forgotten what Trump was like as president. So here are the photos, to help jog your memory. This was Trump, urging his supporters to raid the Capitol to overturn the election he lost.

I don't agree w @milesjennings about everything, but he's 100% right on this. Downplaying criminal activity in crypto isn't just bad lawyering; & it's not just being a bad citizen. It's bad for crypto itself, because the future depends upon adoption-& THAT depends upon legitimacy
I’m all for calling out lawfare, but crying foul about justified and legitimate government actions against criminals doesn’t help crypto’s cause. Obviously, criminality in tradfi should be rooted out with the same vigor as criminality in crypto. But the ongoing prevalence of

Absolutely right--well thought-out and a really important discussion. As an aside, not only is crypto not a partisan issue (& it shouldn't be); it's also not the most important issue in this election. If you're going to be a single-issue voter, don't make this your single issue.
This is a great piece. Digital assets policy is not partisan, and smart digital assets legislation is utterly vital to securing the future of the American economy. Thank you @JaiMassari @RebeccaRettig1 @ccatalini

CRYPTO BROKER REPORTING REGS FINALIZED On Friday, June 28, Treasury and the IRS issued final regs under tax code section 6045 requiring custodial brokers to report dispositions of digital assets to the seller and the IRS on Form 1099-DA. A summary 🧵 of key points (1/27) ...

This is a key point. The reason the approval of the spot ETH ETFs is a clear indication that the SEC does not consider ETH a security is because funds whose assets are 40% or more securities may not register through a Form S-1; rather, they are considered investment companies and
If any of the ETH spot ETFs go effective on Form S-1, the debate is over: ETH is not a security. There is no legal way for a fund whose assets consist (almost) entirely of securities to go effective on an S-1 (with one exception that doesn’t apply).

it was bad enough that someone calling himself a "researcher" did a whole post about my "potential involvement in editing crypto-related articles for Wikipedia" without even checking what my involvement might be but now the journalists at @protos are just reprinting it?

As usual, @JonnyRhea posts a really insightful, intelligent, and thought-provoking tweet. As usual, the only word I understand in his sentence is the preposition ("around"). It's as if I've stumbled into the Mensa Society meeting and I'm looking around for the Lego table.

If your argument is that "you need the casino to bootstrap the space", think again anon—you've got it wrong. Yes, we need mechanisms for funding new decentralized networks early on when the value they'll create is uncertain. But no, we don't need tokens without soul or purpose
Two visions for crypto: - You can use it to create long-term alignment of incentives that increase the scale of human cooperation toward building new things. - Or, you can use it to build a degenerate casino of meaningless speculation that turns everything into a zero sum game.
