My #TEDx talk from June has now gone live. I would be very interested in any opinions from Maths teachers or anyone else on the future of the subject in schools. #mathschat #maths #edchat #edutwitter #21steduskills #futureofwork .

I gave no instruction about explaining the work in simpler terms, so the order in which it presented the methods is interesting. I would really like to hear any and all thoughts on using #ChatGPT or #AI in Maths.

Then it drops down to using simpler processes that would be accessible for a foundation student. (The original question appeared on an IGCSE Foundation and Higher paper)

Now it shifts away to a more typical higher GCSE approach.

Is this the way you would find the area? I kept asking #chatgpt4 for different methods and it didn’t disappoint. Interested in anyone with opinions on bring #AI or #LLM their teaching of #maths. Different methods used by #OPENAI shown in thread….

Just watched the #AI dilemma, after seeing a clip shown in CPD this week. Is this something your school are talking about? Have you heard about any sensible approaches schools are taking to tackle AI issues particularly from a #maths #teaching perspective?

I used to think 0.9 recurring was equal to 1 but now I’m not so sure! #maths #mathai #AI #mathschat #math. All comments on this matter are welcome.

Car A, travels at a constant velocity of 50km/h and collides with a stationary truck. Car B, accelerates from rest and at the precise moment it reaches 50km/h collides with an identical stationary truck. How might these two collisions differ, if at all? #maths #physics.

#Ib #Maths, students revision board. Functions and their derivatives in lime green and orange. Taught A-Level for a good while and never thought about some of these connections, particularly regarding concavity.

Niche Trig question. Which is true. Cot(x) = 1/tan(x), so cot(90) = 1/tan(90) =1/undefined therefore cot(90) is undefined. OR cot(x) = cos(x)/sin(x), so cot(90) = cos(90)/sin(90) = 0/1 = 0 therefore cot(90) = 0. #Maths #mathsalevel #mathchat #Mathematics.

Further Maths A Level Question. Can you assign a later applied module to A Level Maths and an earlier to Further Maths. E.g M1 contributes to further and M2 contributes towards A Level? I can’t see anything in the rules about this. #mathscpdchat #maths.

Set as an extension task for my Y12’s. Find the Eq’n of the two lines that pass through (-3,-4) and are tangent to the circle with Centre (-1,1) radius 5. Two viable methods, one much more favourable than the other. What would you do?.

Set this question for my Further Maths students and asked them to prove by induction, if they could. In hindsight it was a fair bit harder than I thought. My inductive step was 11 lines long! if anyone can be more concise, I’d like to know. #maths #Math #mathchat

Really good video from @veritasium. Anyone teaching complex numbers, this is well worth sharing with students. The problem so hard we had to invent new numbers

Just stumbled across this and absolutely loved it, anyone teaching Taylor series, or just interested in a problem that extends beyond 3 dimensions will get a lot out of it. #maths
