“Uber is dead” is only a side effect of Tesla Robotaxi. At a fraction of the cost of ride share today, Tesla isn’t going after Uber’s market share. They’re going after the big prize that Uber could never collect - the TAM of ALL miles driven by humans today.

Robotaxi app now open to everyone and wait time is 43 minutes in Austin. @Tesla, why open the app and put a sour taste in people’s mouths with long wait times? I thought surely we would only open access if there’s no safety monitors, therefore plenty of cars?

If this is true, Tesla must be VERY close to taking out safety drivers (like today). Otherwise, the influx of users will overwhelm the current car supply and will make a terrible impression from wait times. So safety drivers out… today??

Hot take: Tesla actually nerfed the $8.5T market cap target for PR purposes. Reason? $400B ebitda does not equal $8.5T value. It's way higher. Hard enough to stomach Elon's $1T "payday" but it's more like $4T+ payday if $400B ebitda is achieved. $TSLA
