Fangraphs = NatStatTrick, very solid and useful if you know how to navigate NHL Edge is supposed to be the equivalent of Baseball Savant but imagine if Savant were much, much, much worse

baseball fans should feel so blessed having access to savant, fangraphs, etc. when this is what hockey fans deal with in the public analytics department
The NHL's Edge tracking data platform has a facelift for 2025-26, but it looks like its functionality has taken a step back. They've removed the ability to filter skating speed data by situation (e.g. even strength, all situations, etc.), which makes it a LOT less useful

I think a lot of things are true here: hitting approach/philosophy has definitely changed but it's a direct result of how pitching has evolved, all of it is related love Gardy tho, great AB this was hype

I'm not of the belief that being able to work counts/ABs isn't important but it's kinda funny in hindsight he fouled off 2 center-cut fastballs and swung at ball 4 three times
People are telling me these kinda atbats dont exist anymore because pitchers are better now. Lol aight Gardner vs allen (2.94 ERA) 2017 this is just a hitter profile thing.

It never seems to go well for any players that do extended chirping on here with fans. Actually glad we have a Yankees player to genuinely hate now. He’ll be prepping for the Bruins season shortly too.

could've made this play standing up but wanted to be on the highlight reel and maybe cost his team the season sad. hate to see it really. couldn't have happened to a better guy
