People in the comments saying that running an LLM on an everyday laptop/PC is not feasible are just wrong .

I don’t want to single out ChatGPT here . Most AI chat apps can give your conversation history away if legally required.

You should use LLMs locally. On your hardware that you own and control . Matter a fact, self-host as many things as you can.

The reason why Proton is doing this is quite simple, if they have infrastructure in other countries they can't be held hostage by Switzerland . Proton is not the bad guy here.

@lordofborg @alexrecouso @ProtonPrivacy Nah Proton has talked about this for some time now. Current state of the world is an absolute mess so it's kind of a hot potato but I think spreading out infrastructure is not bad.

Giving websites more personal data about you will only make AI better in the long-run.

No it legitimately couldn't. Real scenario: A bot farm operator buys 10,000 leaked identity documents from a data breach and creates verified accounts across platforms. They wouldn't even need to buy them. Tea app mentioned. Centralizing identity verification creates massive

ID Verification Could Fix The Dead Internet. A plague of AI bots is devouring the Net like a swarm of programmatically generated locusts. And mandatory ID verification could be the only solution.

My stance . KYC is about control rather than safety. I’d even argue that KYC makes the internet way less safe.

It was never about safety of anyone. It has always been about control and censorship.

Also I genuinely think people in the government are too old to make laws about internet safety.

There are people saying “too late” you giving up doesn’t mean I and millions of other people have . Fighting for what is your human right is right . Giving up and saying “this is just what it is now” is not helping anyone at all. You should not give up your human right this.
