NEW: @VDHgov just announced that 11 health districts will begin vaccinating people in Group 1B starting the week of January 11. This is in line with my directive earlier this week to increase flexibility and accelerate the pace of vaccinations as quickly and safely as possible.

At the end of all this, what will matter is how we got through it: drawing together or driving wedges. Not us vs them, not zero sum, not blame or avoidance. Presume positive, lean in together and ask, what can I do to help? Leaders, especially: we can not lose sight of this.

Strategic alignment is just as essential as visionary leadership. In education, we spend a lot of time talking about vision and not nearly enough time talking about how to align and distribute leadership using clear priorities, common language, systems and structures.
Visionary leaders aren't enough to make an organization change.

So many emotions from staff and students today. I think it speaks volumes about what a safe and loving place @GlasgowMS is for so many of our kiddos. Absolutely loved my first year there and can’t wait to see what’s next! #GMSBelieves
