@NYCSchools If youβre a parent who is going to get in trouble at work for being late because @NYCSchools failed to properly test digital learning platforms, just know @NYCMayor has no sympathy for you.
.@NYCMayor has little sympathy for parents who have a hard time with remote learning. "You can't tell me that mommy took me to school with her arthritic knees in a snow day and you are frustrated logging on to a computer, that's not acceptable to me. Our children must learn."

The only conspiracy theory to which I'm currently subscribing concerns how many of the posts about "false flag" have the phrase "right on que" [sic]. I know they don't know words & shit, but there's no way they're all choosing the same word they can't spell.

So, if you use both, I'd prefer you follow me on Mastodon https://t.co/xyljqSaZ5l BUT if you are sticking with Jack's proprietary version of the Fediverse, for some reason, you can find me at

The only thing different from Twitter is that sometimes when you follow someone, you need to paste a whole URL instead of just the username. Once you're past that "oh god, I have to choose a server?", it's the same. And you don't have to choose--just go to the link above. Done.

So go sign up for https://t.co/37JZRLL0Zd. The fediverse isn't some mysterious and difficult thing. That's one of the core servers, there's no moderation bullshit, it's got legal guarantees against Nazis.

Mastodon has been that. It's a lovely place. Yeah, there are a lot of annoying scolds, but so fucking what? I mute and ignore. I'll happily tune out some extraordinarily naive politics over tuning out the relentless presence of people like Musk & Jones.

It's only worth as much as its content, and it has increasingly little value for the random content that made it so wonderful in the past. If I'm mainly only here for friends, I'll go where the friends are, and hopefully find more joy in randomness again.

My initial feeling about all of the Musk changes was, the fascists aren't taking this from me. But then came all of the service changes, and when you couple an increasingly hostile user experience with people like Jones being reinstated every week--fine, they can have it.

Some of my friends here have totally left, others have a dual presence on Bsky. While there is still plenty of content here that I enjoy, every single day brings news that makes me feel like, I don't even want to open the app to hear from friends.

Trying to log into Twitter on desktop to make typing easier, and I somehow can't remember my password, again, so I think that's my final cue -- I'm about done here.

I think that one thing thatβs hard to explain to people who havenβt βbeen thereβ is that once youβve had one significant mental health crisis, the fact that you could have another is ever-present in your mind, so we often remain on high alert for the rest of our lives about it.

My god, y'all. This isn't hard. Rich people hate democrats. Rich people will fuck you and your family over on pricing to make democrats look bad so you'll elect republicans so they can keep getting tax breaks and pay you low wages. How do people not see this?

In just under two months, IDF bombs have destroyed a comparable percentage of buildings in northern Gaza as WW2 allied forces achieved in the space of two years of carpet bombing German cities

If only he'd been absolutely laden with red flags before the election
Nearly 60% of registered local voters said they disapproved of Adams' job performance, versus 28% who said they approved. https://t.co/qdvQviL2jT

If my caravan-mates asked, "why are you staying here? Did you find gold?" I would have gestured at the horizon and said yes. "But how will you live?" "By learning the native language and begging the locals to let me join them."

And to the left of where I was standing, a small group of bison were relaxing in the grass

What I've learned from my trip out to Antelope Island is that if I'd been a pioneer heading west, I never would have made it much past the Rockies. I would have looked at the mountains, immediately decided, it won't get better than this, and started building a house.
