Every person who works in tech needs least 5 non tech friends to interact with closely on a weekly basis so they can understand how the general public actually thinks.

people who do the work don't do too much on their portfolio or resumes and this is coming from reviewing thousands of resumes - after a while, you look at a resume and you can almost tell if they did the work or not. presenting in an actual interview is a different game.

Yes. Honestly, there’s no escaping it, so in the famous words of my HR - ‘be kind to yourself’. It’s a rat race but it’s the required sacrifice for exponential career growth, there are no shortcuts, it’s hard work that eventually turns to smart work.

Wrapped up the month at 191% of goal achieved. Received direct messages from the ELT inquiring if we just set a new record, which we infact did. Now we just have to do it consistently, but first, I’m off for a few weeks because I’ve worked extremely hard to get here.

True. Although opposite scenario. My hack here is to block out my day/calendar with 30 minute work blocks - what I realise in my world is that I never get to everything on the list on time because I’m being pulled in different directions.
if you want to know if you’re really getting work done, write down every task you’re doing. you’d be surprised at how much you’re not working.
