What Muizzu has done by passing the budget as they did yesterday, allows full control for him to decide on which projects should proceed. In a way this would limit the ability of MPs to meddle with the budget as was practiced during past administration.

Our ancestors lived off of food grown on our islands. It wasn't too infertle for them. They grew rice in Addu in the 80s ffs.
has food security ever been a priority for any government? whenever we talk about expanding agriculture we are told “our soils are not that fertile to grow this and that”. then how about we invest in r&d and find ways to do it rather than relying on imports? gaumahtakaa? no?.
