Is there a world in which Kirk Cousins is the Falcons' starting quarterback in 2026? https://t.co/vPwU9tx1ss

The Atlanta Falcons have a tough decision looming with Kirk Cousins. With Michael Penix Jr.'s future in jeopardy, could they opt to retain the pricey veteran?

"Kirk is just playing well. I don't want to compare the two (Cousins and Michael Penix Jr.). They both have done a nice job of getting things done. We've had moments where Mike has looked great."
Raheem Morris: "I’m not shocked by Kirk going in and doing a really nice job. That’s what he was brought here to do. … He looks good, and I’m extremely proud of him."

An absolute shame that people who strive to cover the players in this state are being denied access — not only every single Friday night extending from the early to fall to December, but through the spring and summer. Do better @OfficialGHSA
Alex is one of those guys I'll see in South Georgia at a padded camp on a random 100-degree day in July, working his tail off to help add exposure to one of the best talent-producing states in the country.

The Falcons are only the second team in NFL history, and the first since 1944, to win a game despite committing 15 or more penalties than their opponent.

Regulation games where one team was called for 15 or more penalties than their opponent, NFL history: 11/26/44, Bears at Eagles 11/16/25, Cardinals vs 49ers 12/11/25, Falcons at Buccaneers (end of list)

Credit this team for playing like they did tonight. Injured and eliminated from the postseason, you get hit with 19 penalties for 125 yards on the road, trailing 28-14 late in the game and seemingly behind the 8-ball all night. They faced lots of adversity, but they got a win.

Kyle Pitts had just one full season with more than three touchdown receptions coming into tonight, but he has three in this game.

James Pearce Jr. is easily the frontrunner for Defensive Rookie of the Year in my book. I've been surprised his play this year hasn't been a bigger national story, because a rookie pass rusher doing this would usually get a lot of attention. He should be a story now.

From ESPN Research: Ten accepted penalties is now tied for the second most against a team in any half this season. #Falcons
