Isn't pronatalism exhausting? Wonderful groups I'm sure, but still... people without children care about future generations too! "... groups like 1000 Grandmothers for Future Generations [...] & the Society of Fearless Grandmothers [...] Moms Clean Air Force"

Regardless of the political party, non-coupled people continue to be ignored in new reforms. In my research, 70% of the single people interviewed lived with parents or in rented communal properties. The housing crisis doesn’t just impact “families”, it impacts everybody.

This is a fascinating and important interview - understanding how pronatalism and patriarchy are intertwined and yet often hidden from view; we need to understand and unpack this. Thank you @NLInstitute and @janevandis

How do women learn to speak up for themselves if we're taught the opposite as girls? And as grown-up and older women without children, told to sit on the sidelines of 'real' womanhood? My new essay, free to read. https://t.co/HvkeI1wsTS

#Ageing, #alone, #childless I’ve recently run the emotional, physically draining process of moving house alone aged 74. I’m asked to understand the issues of ‘Mums’, #kids, #families, etc. I ‘cope’ so ignore me/us? Perhaps our childless status makes many uncomfortable.

@BibiLynch @gatewaywomen Another instance of our childless voices being unheard and our grief disregarded. Sadly, if you'd been a mum complaining of insensitivity for say grieving the loss of a second child, I feel you would have been treated differently. Pronatalism (I.e Mumsnet) has power, we don't.

WATCH NOW: An amazing time with the NomoCrones discussing what 'radical' means to use (dictionary definitions n'all) and whether a life lived outside the mainstream of motherhood predisposes us by elderhood to such things #childlesselderhood https://t.co/vVkjT31bK1

Simply incredible. The prejudice is real and programmed into our social media. It is undoubtedly replicating in our AI as well. @gatewaywomen @NLInstitute @SoloAdvocacyAus @AllenAndUnwin #sheidarenotname

#childess experiences do not fit the modern neo-liberal narrative of choice and personal agency. They are about how we can’t always have what we want. That like ageing and death some aspects of life are beyond our control. They involve grief. All unpopular!

These stories are needed in breaking the stigma that women ‘HAVE’ to have children. However, men & women who are involuntarily childless like my friends @RobinHadley1 and @JustMeandLilley need their voices heard too. Why is there such little media interest in their stories?
