@michaelhpage Of course it is picking winners: people using GenAI techniques who believe scale is the right way to AGI. This would do nothing for anyone trying to develop competing techniques. Which is what we actually need.

some are complaining about the word “leaked”. so far as I know OpenAI did not draw attention to this letter to the White House, and Altman did not refer to it in his 15 paragraph tweet yesterday despite it’s obvious relevance. Until @iamgingertrash I had seen no coverage of it.
