Tory and now Reform Laura managed an entire hour of Sunday TV without a single word on Reform Russian bribes or Tory Covid. Not a single mention. The biggest new events of the last seven days, both completely ignored by the BBC. We live in extremely dangerous times.

Yesterday the first British political figure in recent times was sentenced to 10½ years for Russian collusion. It was on barely any front pages, covered for a day and was ignored when it broke besides @carolecadwalla’s fearless reporting. Why? Because he was a Reform leader.

This is why the hard right in Britain wants to destroy the BBC. It’s not because they want impartiality, they’ve benefitted from Tories at the top platforming them, they want free rein to plug the gaps of mistrust with conspiracy and disinfo so they can attain unchecked power.

For clarity, the BBC that helped enable Brexit, that puts Farage on virtually every news show almost daily, and whose management has been stuffed with Tories for years, isn’t left wing.
