This work has been some of my favorite during my PhD with such an amazing team. Exciting to see it all rollout and to share stakeholder generated recommendations to further strengthen SNAP.
From one of our COVID rapid-response studies, this new brief examines SNAP implementation during the first year of the pandemic and offers recommendations from SNAP administrators about how to improve program administration & prepare for future emergencies

The House has a BUSY morning. They need to tackle both the school meal waivers (again) & gun reform bills the Senate sent late last night. Both should pass. Congress is on the verge of passing two major laws. On meals: https://t.co/JT0V683fap On guns:

Congress passed an extension for some of the school meal waivers that supported families and schools during the pandemic, but they'll end for many who got free meals for the last two years.

There is no such thing as being “pro-life” while supporting laws that let children be shot in their schools, elders in grocery stores, worshippers in their houses of faith, survivors by abusers, or anyone in a crowded place. It is an idolatry of violence. And it must end.

Proud to be a part of this team and to be learning every day from the community of East Buffalo. "Repairing food apartheid will require sustained investment in the community food infrastructure—not short-term or charitable solutions"
East Buffalo is full of existing Black-led groups working to feed and care for its residents in the aftermath of the massacre. And they’ll be doing the same long after the news media has moved on. #oped @profsaminaraja, @CK_Herman, @enjoli_hall
