I have two theses on the next 18 months in AI and this hits on both of them. Agents as Customers and Generative UI would both be wildly easier problems if companies built public APIs. Unfortunately, that would require companies to build public APIs. Not holding my breath.
Every app out there building an AI assistant into its UI is on the wrong side of history. You will provide a full-featured API, and I will use *my* assistant to get what I want from you. If you refuse to provide an API, I will use your competitor. Major implications for SaaS

Anthropic going down shouldn't be possible. Soon, shit like this is going to register in the GDP numbers.

"Simply apply" "Just submit" "Nah, we're pretty sure you can't overdose on shipping" These are the lies that the gauntlet empire is built on.

GENERATIVE UI IS MOTHERFUCKING COMING ITS COMING HARDER THAN @chiefhype'S MOM AND NONE OF US ARE READY OR HAVE ANY IDEA HOW TO USE IT
We're also releasing a temporary research preview called "Imagine with Claude". In this experiment, Claude generates software on the fly. No functionality is predetermined; no code is prewritten. Available to Max users for 5 days. Try it out:

This sort of thing seems totally unrelated to making the American military more survivable and lethal on the modern battlefield, I’d like to see much less of it
Under my direction, the soldiers who fought at the Battle of Wounded Knee will keep their medals. This decision is final. Their place in history is settled.

Some data breaches, I really feel like the company should be sued into the ground. AT&T, Equifax, Wells Fargo, are all in the game of storing incredibly sensitive data. But then like, Advanced Auto Parts gets hacked and that just doesn't seem fair.

this is a classic example of increasing labor productivity through automation and technique, raising the marginal product, raising wages
In 2016 Geoffrey Hinton said “we should stop training radiologists now" since AI would soon be better at their jobs. He was right: models have outperformed radiologists on benchmarks for ~a decade. Yet radiology jobs are at record highs, with an average salary of $520k. Why?
