Why do people even care about this? Who cares if a film has “cultural impact” or not? It’s a film. Either like it, dislike it or sit somewhere in the middle. Not every movie has to be an “event”. Some films are just films. We blow everything out of proportion these days.

Despite having the biggest box office numbers of all time, the Avatar franchise has had almost no cultural impact compared to Marvel, Star Wars, etc. It’s very strange. Why is that? Give me your best explanations.

How am I just now learning that Ghostface Killah’s, ODB’s, Method Man’s abd U-God’s sons are in a rap group together called 2nd Generation Wu? They’re kinda dope too!

Got the day off work tomorrow. Going to watch “The Shadow’s Edge,” “Wild Style,” “Drop Zone,” and “A Better Tomorrow.” I say this and I’ll end up watching a bunch of 80’s slashers.

Skipping a few Nas albums and opting for "Stillmatic" next. I mean, it has "Ether" on it; it's got to be decent, right? Plus, two Large Pro beats, and one Preemo beat. Dope. Let's see if it's as good as it appears to be.

The beats let this one down. Nas rarely lacks in the emcee department, so he sounds as fresh as ever. But the whole album feels lackluster. Boring, even.

The first album of the day is Nas' "I Am..." I admit, I've listened to "Illmatic" and "It Was Written," but then I jumped to "Kings Disease." I've never really paid attention to the rest of his discrography, despite thinking he's one of the greats. Time to remedy that.

Decided to start “Mad Men” last night. The first episode was flames. As a drama, it’s really decent, but the comedic aspect can’t be downplayed. The insane misogyny is hilarious. Then you realize that’s what that era was really like and it gets depressing.

My wife refused to post her top songs from Spotify Wrapped. Why? Because she didn’t want anyone knowing she’s been listening to Glorilla.

Directors, stop using suppressors on every single gun in your film. Bring back the John Woo years when guns sounded like Westside Gunn adlibs - “BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM!!”

I asked my boss for a $15,000 pay increase today. Went through official channels and all. Let's see how far this goes. I imagine it'll never get mentioned again.

I suppose I should drop my most listened to album, too. @BoldyJames and @NicholasCraven_ ‘s “Late to My Own Funeral.” This was my introduction to Boldy, and he’s quickly become a current favourite.

I love how EPMD is one of my top artists in 2025. Unexpected. But of course @Evidence is number one. Loved “Unlearning Vol. 2” and I’ve been bumping his discography ever since. I don’t know what The Smiths are doing there. Someone else obviously hijacked my Spotify 🤫.

First album of the day is Rasco's "Time Waits for No Man." This album comes out of the gate HOT. I never rated Rasco when I was younger. He felt too "simple" for me. I stand corrected. He's actually pretty dope.

Realy enjoyed Jeru’s debut, so currently listening to his follow up, “Wrath of the Math.” Jeru can go from conscious, uplifting MC to pretty damn vulgar at the drop of a hat, which I appreciate. He might not be the most complex on the mic, but he’s dope.

I accidently ordered two copies of the "Wild Style" 4K UHD, so I'll be selling one of them (still sealed) at some point.

Today's first album is a first time listen - Jeru the Damaja's "The Sun Rises in the East." I heard Jeru at a young age and just didn't care for him. Now that my tastes have evolved, I imagine I'll like this a lot now. Did Preemo produce every beat on this?
