In their Article, @fredosmithjr & Peter O’Neill reconstruct the story of Younger v. Harris. Relying on diverse sources, their Article democratizes our constitutional memory and recovers the erased history of Black political resistance and state oppression underlying Younger.

Political violence from any party or any ideology is a direct assault on the foundations of democracy and the rule of law; it seeks not to persuade but to intimidate, not to debate but to destroy. In every instance it corrodes the public trust, diminishes our shared institutions,

Richard Fallon’s passing is a tremendous loss for the field of federal courts and the academy. He exemplified academic integrity, mentorship, and brilliant insights that commanded attention across ideological lines. He has been a model, inspiration, and guide.

After ten years, today is my last day as a professor at Emory Law. It's bittersweet, given my exceptional colleagues and students, and the ways I grew as a scholar here. And still, I am very excited about the next chapter as a professor at my alma mater, Stanford Law School.

Thrilled that my new article, "The Forgotten Face of 'Our Federalism,'" will appear in @YaleLJournal. With co-author Peter O'Neill, we tell the forgotten racialized origins of the canonical Younger v. Harris. A new framework contextualizes this forgetting: legitimacy laundering.
